Hi Leo,

I’ve had some time to try out the connections you mentioned but unfortunately, they did not work. However, I was able to figure out the correct wiring.
For models with bluetooth, the SWC2 wire goes to the bluetooth module. The pink wire needs to be cut and connected to the key2 (SWC2) wire of the head unit. Hopefully, this info can help out anyone in the future trying to figure it out.

Dear Mazdaspeed333 , after the last device replacement, I would like to know if the issue of CarPlay and FM audio mixing has been resolved.

Hi Leo. The issue was still present with the replacement.

However, I downloaded the software update that you had listed in “2013 Ford Escape stealing wheel controls, CarPlay audio, and audio echo” and that seems to have resolved the issue with the FM audio mixing.

I do have another question, I’m unable to pair my OBD2 Bluetooth module. I tried deleting all bluetooth devices and I also tried pairing it immediately after re-installing the software update. The only place that I can find to pair bluetooth devices is in the phone menu.

Hi, thanks for your update! We’re glad to hear that installing the firmware we provided successfully resolved the FM audio mixing issue. Regarding the issue with the OBD2 Bluetooth module not pairing — please note that only the octa-core (8-core) head units support the OBD2 protocol. If you’re using a quad-core or other model, the Bluetooth module may only support audio devices (such as phones or media players), and won’t recognize data-only devices like OBD2 scanners. Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other questions.

Sorry, I don’t check the site regularly.

As Leo mentioned it’s above the glovebox. I pulled the whole glovebox out and it’s under the dash. When it’s out just look up for the module. Here’s a pic of what I saw.
