Regarding the issue where the temperature and mileage units cannot be saved, this might be caused by a data transmission problem with the CAN bus box.

Please follow these troubleshooting steps:

1. Locate the 8-pin connector that extends from the 20-pin CAN bus box.
2. Identify the gray wire on the connector and disconnect it in the middle.

After making this adjustment, check if the issue is resolved. Additionally, verify that the steering wheel controls, such as the volume adjustment and track skip buttons, are still functioning correctly with the radio.

I’m having the same problem. What do you mean by "disconnect [the gray wire] in the middle? And does it matter if its at the CAN bus end or at the 8-pin connector end?

Hello,

When I mentioned “disconnect [the gray wire] in the middle,” it means cutting the gray wire at any point along its length. It doesn’t matter whether you disconnect it near the CAN bus box or the 8-pin connector, as long as the wire is properly cut to prevent a signal loop or interference.

After cutting, ensure the exposed ends are insulated with electrical tape or a connector to avoid short circuits. If you need further clarification or assistance, feel free to ask!

I had the same problem with the same vehicle. However the harness sent with my unit was slightly different. instead of two wires on the 8-pin connector, it had several. The two wires in the position of the grey and white wires shown above, were blue and blue with black stripe. The blue with black stripe corresponded to the grey wire. I disconnected and insulated the end as described. This fixed the Celsius/Kilometer problem, however now the steering wheel switches operate erratically (one press equals four levels of volume up or down) and the temperature fluctuates up and down 3-4 degrees.

Also, the unit was advertised to have wireless apple carplay. I do not see the apple carplay app, can you tell me how to access this feature?

Regarding the steering wheel control issue, where one press adjusts multiple levels of volume instead of a single step—this may be due to incorrect data transmission from the CANBUS box. The easiest solution is to bypass the CANBUS box and directly connect the steering wheel control wire to the head unit:

Cut the AD wire from PIN 9 of the CANBUS box’s 20-pin connector.
Connect this AD wire directly to the KEY1 wire on the head unit.
Open the Steering Wheel Learning application on the head unit and manually map each button.
This should resolve the issue and allow precise control of the steering wheel buttons.
For reference, please check the pin definition diagram below to ensure correct wiring.

If you can’t find the CarPlay app, please search for “CarLink 2.0”—that’s the correct app name for wireless CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.

Thank you! I will try this. I also have one other issue. When I try to use the 6 physical buttons on the front of the unit, I only get response from the red “hazard” switch, the lock/unlock switch, and the power switch. I also have a 8-pin connector on the back of the unit at the bottom that has four wires with no connection. They are labeled and color coded. There is one black (GND), one brown (KEY 1), one blue (kEY 2), and one orange (ILL). Could these be the reason? Where do I need to connect them?

Hello! Could you check if your power wiring harness includes the connector marked in the image?

If your power harness includes this 8-pin connector, please unplug the existing wiring from the back of the front panel and plug in the 8-pin connector from the power harness instead.
Then, go to the Steering Wheel Learning application and manually program the remaining three buttons.

If your power wiring harness does NOT have this connector, please follow the wiring

Thank you. No my wiring harness does not include the 8-pin for the lower back section. It does have an 8-pin for the upper back connection from the canbus. I will follow the wiring chart marked “power line definition chart” that you included and see if that corrects the issue.

To be clear, my harness has the 8-pin labeled 7 but not the 8-pin labeled 11 (reference your picture titled “Connect to the original car harness plug: power/speaker/SWC”

Thank you for your clarification. Since your power harness does not include the 8-pin connector labeled “11” for the back of the front panel, you will need to connect the corresponding wires manually.

Please refer to the Power Line Definition Chart and match the wires accordingly:

GND (Black) → Ground
KEY1 (Brown) → Steering wheel control input 1
KEY2 (Blue) → Steering wheel control input 2
ILL (Orange) → Illumination (for button backlight control)
Once connected, go to the Steering Wheel Learning app and manually assign functions to the missing buttons. Let us know if you need further assistance!

Thanks for all your help. It worked! The unit now has all the advertised functions and the 6 physical buttons work properly and even have proper illumination at night.
