CarPlay won't connect

I just installed the new head unit this weekend, and I can’t get the wireless CarPlay to connect. I got my phone to connect to Bluetooth so i could play music, but nothing happened when i selected the car in the CarPlay meny. It just kept on trying to connect. Any known issue / solution to this?

I reset the bluetooth settings on the head unit, and tried again. I get the popup on my iPhone and on the unit to pair them, when i press pair on both it just keeps loading on the iPhone. Bluetooth connects but no Carplay. What should i do here? Device info below:

Thanks, I should load it onto a USB drive and then hook that into the USB-connector on the harness? Or can i do it OTA if i connect a hotspot to the head unit?

Please use the USB flash drive upgrade method for this update.
Even if you connect a hotspot, the OTA server for your current version is temporarily disabled, so online updating is not available.

Upgrade steps:

Download the update file to your computer.
Copy the file to the root directory of a USB drive formatted as FAT32.
Insert the USB drive into the main USB port on the wiring harness.
The head unit will automatically detect the file and prompt you to upgrade.
