Hello, thank you for your feedback!
Our device is equipped with a built-in microphone and also supports an external microphone via the 3.5mm “MIC” input on the wiring harness. Please note that the built-in and external microphones share the same audio input line. When an external microphone is plugged in, the built-in microphone does not automatically turn off; both microphones will pick up sound simultaneously. Therefore:
If the built-in microphone has poor pickup or interference, it may affect overall voice input quality;
Even after plugging in an external microphone, poor pickup may still be caused by interference from the built-in microphone.
To accurately diagnose the issue, please do not install the external microphone first. Instead, test the built-in microphone alone.
You can test the built-in microphone on the device by following these steps:
Open the “Calculator” app on the device;
Enter Login to see the code (three zeros and a decimal point), then press the equals button to enter the factory test mode;
In the test menu (displayed in Chinese), locate the microphone test screen (please refer to the screenshots we provide);
When the test starts, there will be a 3-second countdown, after which you can speak freely;
The device will then play back what you said—please check if there is any noise or distortion.
If you find that the built-in microphone’s pickup is poor or has significant noise, we recommend removing or disconnecting the built-in microphone and using only the external microphone for voice input, which can effectively improve sound quality. We can provide a detailed teardown video to guide you through the removal process.
Also, please make sure the external microphone is firmly connected to the “MIC” jack. You may also try testing with other 3.5mm microphones. If the problem persists, we are happy to send you a free replacement external microphone to assist with troubleshooting.
Thank you for your understanding and support. We will continue to provide you with technical assistance!
