Steering wheel controls not recognized

When selecting a command to learn on the new radio, before pressing the desired SWC button, is the radio supposed to display anything? I cannot get a video to load, otherwise I would show that.

All the SWC functions worked previously to install of this radio.

Perfect! That’s what I was expecting to happen, but the button on the head unit only stays highlighted while you are touching it. It never goes beyond that point so I cannot even try a SWC function.

Please make sure you’re following the correct procedure for learning steering wheel buttons:

✅ Press and hold the physical steering wheel button first (do not release),
✅ Then tap the corresponding function on the head unit screen,
➡️ The button should stay highlighted and show that the function is learned. Only then you can release the steering wheel button.

From your message, it seems you may be tapping the screen button first and then pressing the steering wheel button — that won’t trigger the learning process.

Please try again using the correct order, and if it still doesn’t work, feel free to share a photo or short video so we can help further.

It still isn’t working. It will not stay highlighted and will not learn controls at all.

I cannot seem to be able to upload a short video either. Do you have any recommendations for that so I can show you?

If possible, please upload the video to YouTube, Google Drive, or WeTransfer and share the link here, so we can take a closer look at the issue.

Also, if the wiring is already consistent with the diagram but the learning function still doesn’t work, we suspect there may be an issue with the factory steering wheel signal wiring. We recommend temporarily reinstalling the OEM head unit to test. If the OEM unit also fails to recognize the steering wheel buttons, this will help confirm the source of the problem.

After reviewing various resources and user feedback for this model, I found that a blown fuse related to the steering wheel module could potentially cause the control buttons to stop working.
You may refer to the following:

According to the factory fuse location diagram from this website, the 7.5A fuse at position F72 in the passenger compartment is blown.

If the above solutions still do not resolve the issue, I will have to consider the possibility that there may be an issue with the head unit itself. While it is extremely rare for manual wiring to fail in this way, I don’t want to waste your time. The SWC have power and the fuse is good. The controls also light up as they should.

From the video, we can confirm that the CANBUS is working normally—the A/C pop-up appears on startup, and the outside temperature is displayed in the status bar.
However, I did notice that your head unit’s system version is quite old. I recommend upgrading to the latest firmware, as this can improve compatibility and resolve certain functionality issues.

We found the USB connector and tried. The head unit recognized the USB, but would not start loading. I made sure the files were unzipped and it is a clean USB aside from the download file.

Please open File Manager on the head unit → select USB Device, and check the files on your USB drive.
Make sure all extracted files are placed in the root directory of the USB drive (not inside any folder).

Example: Login to see the code is the boot file required for the firmware update. If it is not in the USB root directory, the unit will not detect the firmware and the update will fail.

The update worked, but the SWC still does the exact same thing it did previously. The lights still backlight the controls, but they just don’t learn on the head unit
