Hi Shaun,
Thank you for the detailed information — it really helps us understand the situation better. Based on your description, here’s how we can assist you:
—
1. Buttons Not Working (Hazard, Lock/Unlock):
We’ve reviewed the wiring you received, and it appears that the wrong adapter cable for the hazard light and lock/unlock buttons was included.
Please contact us at [Login to see the link], and we’ll arrange to send you the correct cable right away.
—
2. Extra Wires (12-pin AV plug):
The 12-pin plug with RCA (AV) connectors does not need to be connected in your case.
This cable is included because our harness is designed to support both 4.2″ and 8″ original Ford screens.
Since your original screen is 8″, please use the 54-pin connector only. The 12-pin plug is only for vehicles with 4.2″ displays.
—
3. Speedometer Always Shows 0:
The speed shown on the new screen is based on GPS signal, not OBD.
Please confirm that the GPS antenna is properly installed, ideally placed near the A-pillar for better signal.
You can go to Settings > Device > GPS to check whether the system has acquired satellite data.
—
4. Temperature Unit at Top of Screen:
To switch the temperature unit to Fahrenheit system-wide, please go to:
Settings > Factory (enter password: 3368) > Original Car Agreement > Temperature Unit Switch.
—
5. Backup Camera Image Quality is Poor:
This happens because many factory cameras have a resolution of only 1024×480, while your new radio supports higher resolutions.
As a result, the image may appear dark or unclear due to signal mismatch and upscaling.
For the best results, we recommend using the backup camera included with your unit, which is optimized for display compatibility and image clarity.

Please let us know if you need further assistance — we’re happy to help!
Best regards,
Leo
