My issue is that anytime i enter my car, wireless carplay is just sitting on “waiting for device to connect” screen. It never connects automatically and takes me a few minutes to go through steps to get it to connect which takes away all the convenience.
My assumption is when it goes into standby mode when the car is off, it doesn’t reset or look for a new connection with the phone but i don’t know how that all works.
The few methods i’ve had to use:
- Open app switcher on headunit and close the carlink 2.0 app. Then open the again. This works ⅗ times and will connect to the phone.
- If that doesn’t work, i can hold down the siri button and it usually connects to carplay, but then nothing on carplay really works correctly via this method. Like it won’t play my music or any audio.
- Turn off bluetooth and wifi on phone, then turn on bluetooth again, then connect to SYU-Android, then open calink and it finally works.
I recently completely reset my phone, so i know the steps of resetting network connections aren’t the issue.
I went into the built-in app store many times and updating everything on the list including car link 2.0 to the latest app. (i can never update canbus-list because it always gives me an error, and it seems the canbus apps need an update almost every time i visit)
I’ve tried playing with settings such as “connect automatically” and such but they don’t seem to do anything. I decided i would rather the headunit start up from “off” when i turn on my car rather than standby mode, but messing with that setting in the Factory settings didn’t seem to actually prevent it from going into standby.
Can you offer any support for getting this to work better? Any settings maybe i screwed up on my end or ones that could help? Wireless carplay is 90% of the reason why i got this headunit and its starting to be even more annoying than the factory one was.
(note, i haven’t performed firmware updates yet. I need to go into that thread and get a file from you it seems or maybe you can drop me one here to try.)
