Launcher or UI Selection question

Hello,

The Android device is working amazing so far, I appreciate the work you have all put in to the product. I had a question about the UI interface. Entering the Setting > General Settings > Launcher3 Theme I can select either UI89 or UI90. Both are useable but I am looking to customize what icons are shown on the main screen.

I can’t seem to find where the UI configuration files are located in the OS. I see it is using the standard Launcher3 for Android, is there a place I could create a theme and put the files to add it to the list to select from? Or, is there a way to select a different launcher for startup? I see where you can change the theme but not the launcher as a whole for the OS.

Regarding your question about the UI interface and launcher customization:

The system uses a customized version of Launcher3, and the related UI configuration files are embedded in the system partition. Therefore, it is currently not possible to add new themes or use third-party launchers by simply copying files.

If you’re looking for a more flexible and highly customizable launcher, we recommend downloading and installing Nova Launcher from the Google Play Store.

Nova Launcher offers a wide range of personalization options, including icon layout, home screen grid, custom animations, and more. After installation, you can set it as the default launcher within the app and enjoy a different interface from the built-in launcher.

I thought as much when I couldn’t find a file trace for the name reference but good to have it confirmed. I’m working on some cheap hardware upgrades to improve performance and connectivity issues. I’ll be posting the tear down and upgrade guide soon.

As a note, I’ve tried a few different launchers but none populate an option in the settings field to allow you to change launchers.

Considering I am one of the minorities on the vertical screen version of the software it could just be something missing there. I have upgraded it to the latest firmware provided to make sure I wasn’t missing anything.

I’ll keep digging but it doesn’t seem like any other launcher I have tried, Agama, Penguin, CarWebGuru, have be added to the launcher selection screen in settings.
