GPS Signal Loss

Hello,

I have been using the radio for RAV4 2018 with no problems for a couple of months, GPS was working fine. However recently, I have been losing GPS signal on and off. Do I need to do a firmware update?

Thank you for reaching out! I’m sorry to hear about the intermittent GPS signal issue you’re experiencing. This could be related to a software glitch or the GPS module. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Check the GPS Antenna Connection: Ensure that the GPS antenna is properly connected and positioned for optimal signal reception. The ideal location for the GPS antenna module is usually near the A-pillar of your vehicle. Please refer to the image below for guidance.

For the best positioning, please place the external GPS antenna near the lower right corner of the dashboard, close to the windshield. Lay it flat with the antenna facing upwards (towards the sky). Ensure there are no metal obstructions on the surface and keep it away from other communication devices or electronic products to avoid interference

Firmware Update: To ensure we provide you with the correct software, could you please share the device version information with us? You can find this by navigating to:
- Settings → System → About Device.
  Please take a screenshot of this screen and share it with us.

Once we have the details, we’ll be able to guide you further or provide the appropriate firmware update.

Hello!

After days of figuring it out…it finally works!! Thank you

I do have a question regarding the new firmware UI, the car button doesn’t work and pops up a bubble saying not suitable protocol. Can I map this to something else?

Regarding the issue with the Car button not working, you can try the following:

Go to Settings > General > Home Launcher Selection and select a different UI.
